How To Get To Surf Grove Campground
Driving towards Tofino from Pacific Rim National Park, you will turn left on Maltby Road, and this perfect spot for camping in Tofino will be on your right-hand side.
2. Wya Point Resort Campground
If remote camping on the coast in a lush rainforest with a private beach sounds ideal, then book your spot at Wya Point Resort.
You can bring your own RV or tent or take advantage of their luxury lodges and yurts.
Located just outside of the town of Ucluelet, you can find all privacy you need.
There are two campground sites available, the Oceanside campsites and the Woodland campsites, with stunning ocean views.
The camp facilities include flush toilets and showers, but you have to bring your own drinking water.
Both drive-in and walk-in campsites are available at Wya Point. Although some tiny RVs under 25 feet and pop-up trailers will fit, the sites are unserviced and primarily designed for tents.
Driving a few kilometers down a dirt road to get to the campsite is a wonderful bonus because it keeps you away from the highway and any traffic noise, but it can be quite a bumpy ride. All sites are pretty secluded and include a picnic table and a fire pit.
A line of coastal yurts may be found on one end of the beach.
Dogs are welcome, so bring along your furry friends and enjoy the walks on the beach and many trails surrounding this Tofino camping spot.
Wya point also offers surf rentals and lessons right on Long Beach.
Ucluelet has an aquarium if you have the kids along, and you can get supplies while you’re in town.
Wya is a great option if you want to camp on Long Beach away from the crowds, but not having drinking water available in the camp is not ideal.

How To Get To Wya Point Resort Campground
Coming from Port Alberni, turn left at the T junction when you see the visitor center onto Tofino-Ucluelet Hwy. Turn right onto Willobrae Road, and this camping spot is located on the left-hand side.
3. Green Point Campground
This beautiful campsite, operating since 1962, is located right in Pacific Rim National Park with access to stunning hiking trails along Long Beach.
It’s a perfect coastal getaway. You can join free, daily guided walks by knowledgeable park rangers, but you can also hike on your own.
Explore Rainforest Figure Eight trail and Ucluelet Wild Pacific trail, or if you prefer something more off-the-beaten path, check out the Canso Plane Crash Hike.
All drive-in sites provide hookups for water, sewer, and electricity. There are clean, renovated washrooms with flush toilets and warm showers.
Pack your camera, surfboard, and fishing rod, but don’t forget to make a reservation. Because of its affordable pricing and prime location, camping can be booked up for months in advance.
There are 94 drive-in sites with electricity and 20 walk-in sites in the campground.
The campground is open from May to October, and the booking starts in January. The summer high-season dates sell out nearly instantly, so keep an eye on their website and plan ahead.

How To Get to Green Point Campground
This Tofino camping spot is 12 km north of the Ucluelet-Tofino junction on Hwy 4, midway between Tofino and Ucluelet.
4. Bella Pacifica Campground
Bella Pacifica is a beautiful oceanfront camping site for the whole family on sandy MacKenzie Beach. It’s a popular campground in Tofino for a good reason.
Old Growth forests, campsites steps away from the beach, and only a short drive from Tofino make this campsite a popular choice.
The campsites lining the ocean are beautiful, so book early to snag one of those beachfront spots. The sooner you book, the better your options.
Full-service hookups for trailers and RVs, plus showers, washrooms, and laundry facilities are available if you need them. The campground also has free wifi.
It’s a family-friendly campground with quiet time from 10 pm to 8 am.
Bella Pacifica Campground is only a ten-minute drive from the town of Tofino if you wish to enjoy some meals at the local Tofino restaurants.

5. Surf Junction Campground
This family-owned campground is located near the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve entrance in Ucluelet. They offer a beautiful place to camp for the whole family and even have a surf school.
This campground is perfect for backpackers, surfers, or families in a large RV.
The facilities include full hookup services for larger units, hot showers, drinkable water, and a store that has most things you may need for the ultimate Tofino camping experience.
There are also hot tubs, saunas, picnic tables, fire pits, and more natural beauty than you can imagine.
At this gorgeous campground, you’ll find 75 campsites ranging from tenting sites to large full-service RV spots on 72 acres of serene forest.
Front Lot is a perfect place if you want to be close to all the activities. It features sites 1A – 49, which include not only two hot tubs but also sauna access.
The Back Lot is a secret oasis for those who love to immerse in nature.
Prices are reasonable compared to other campgrounds in the area; the only downside is that this Surf Junction doesn’t have direct beach access.
However, Wickaninnish Beach is only about a 5-minute drive, where all the surfing action takes place.

How To Get To Surf Junction Campground
Coming from Port Alberni, turn left at the T junction when you see the visitor center onto Tofino-Ucluelet Hwy. Drive 500 meters, and you will see this Tofino camping spot on the left-hand side.
6. Crystal Cove Beach Resort
If Crystal Cove Beach is your idea of Tofino camping, then book early. This campground has more of a resort feel than a campground and is located on Mackenzie Beach.
You can bring your own RV, go glamping, or book a beachfront log cabin for extra comfort.
Log cabins come in various sizes, and you can choose which view you prefer, waterfront, forest, or resort.
You get full-service amenities, electricity, sewer, water, a fire pit, and a picnic table.
There are showers throughout the campsite and free wifi. You can buy a bundle of firewood and other items like books, magazines, board games, and more.
A large playground is perfect for families with kids.
They even have an on-site coffee shop with pastries and coffee to start the morning the right way.
It is important to note that Crystal Cove does not offer tent camping, only RV sites or log cottages.

How to Get to Crystal Cove
Once you reach the Ucluelet-Tofino junction, turn right towards Tofino on the Pacific Rim Highway. Crystal Cove is about 30 km up the highway on the left.
7. Long Beach Golf Course Campground
Long Beach campground is located between Tofino and Uculelet, close to the airport.
This Tofino campground features a golf course, full-service camping sites, and ancient rainforest.
Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and a fire pit. There is running drinking water throughout the sites. They also have flush toilets and free showers.
There are 76 campsites in total, including six fully serviced RV sites.
It’s a family-oriented campground with a quiet time between 11 pm and 8 am.
The campground is close to all of Pacific Rim National Park’s attractions and the world-famous Long Beach just across the highway.

Coming from Port Alberni, turn right at the T junction when you see the visitor center onto Tofino-Ucluelet Hwy. Drive past the Tofino airport and turn right onto Grice Bay Road. Turn right again onto Grice Bay, and you will see this Tofino camping spot.
8. Ucluelet Campground
Ucluelet Campground offers a large space with plenty of camping spots available.
You can choose the view you want, a mountain, harbor or forest.
They provide 125 unique sites spread over 15 acres of forest that may fit larger RVs and campers.
Full-service hookups can accommodate self-contained campers year-round, and there are also sites for hikers just coming in with tents.
There is plenty to do for the whole family nearby, like hiking, whale-watching tours, kayaks, zip-lining, exploring the local scene in Ucluelet, or simply relaxing at your campsite and enjoying being away from it all.
Quiet time starts at 10:30 pm and lasts til 7:00 am.

MacKenzie Beach Resort offers beachfront walk-in camping sites, ideal for unwinding by the ocean.

How to Get to MacKenzie Beach Resort
Once you get to Nanaimo, travel north on highway 19. Next, take exit 60, merging onto Highway 4 to Port Alberni. Enjoy the scenic ride and follow the signs to Tofino. The resort is just 5 minutes South of Tofino by car.
10. Lone Cone Campground
For a truly adventurous experience, you can venture out to Maeres Island.
Maeres island is only accessible by boat from Tofino, giving it a truly remote and private feel.
On the island, there are 25 campsites and a hostel with a full kitchen and bathroom, a hot tub, a volleyball net, a recreation house, a lake, and a campground.
You have to bring your own food and, ideally, your camping gear, as facilities on the island are limited.

Free Camping Tofino, BC
There is technically no free camping in Tofino. However, you’ll find a few free camping sites listed on iOverlander or FreeCampsites near Ucluelet.
These hidden camping spots are on logging roads where you can park your camper. The logging roads are quite rough, and there is no space for tents. During peak season, it can fill up here quickly, so arrive before sunset to secure your spot.
Kennedy River
A few free campsites are also listed along Kennedy River or Kennedy Lake on iOverlander. There are no services here besides fire pits, but you can enjoy turquoise waters in pristine nature. Kennedy River is about halfway between Port Alberni and Tofino.
